The River Yala Water Fund is implemented by WWANC in partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Africa. Founded in 2023, YNCWF as the world’s first women-led water fund, puts women at the forefront in providing a solution to the world’s most pressing issue-water security, leveraging the experiences of smallholder farmers to improve water security, conserve biodiversity, and support resilient livelihoods.
In collaboration with TNC, WWANC works with local landowners and other partners is using a game changing -approach, we promote Nature Based Solutions to enhance water, food and environmental security through inclusion and empowerment of women. YCWF aims to adopt the wetland regulations, invest in catchment conservation, agroforestry, and other sustainable and regenerative climate-smart agricultural practices. Key interventions include; agroforestry, forest restoration, riparian conservation, rain water harvesting, nursery establishment and beekeeping.

A women led organization in Kenya working across the counties of Kenya in changing the lives of women. WWANC was started in 2011 to bring change in the society by empowering women socially, economically and politically while mitigating effects of climate change.
