WWANC successfully distributed 18,213 high-yield, nutrient-rich Hass avocado seedlings to farmers across 30 villages in Chesumei, Emgwen and Nandi Hills sub-counties in Nandi County, benefiting more than 700 farmers.

The distribution exercise was spearheaded by WWANC Co-Directors, Dr. Stella Wanjala and Rose Wamalwa, with farmers receiving seedlings to establish and expand avocado farming on their farms.

Implemented under the GoFund initiative, the distribution is part of WWANC’s commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and creating economic opportunities for farming communities.

In addition to the avocado seedlings, farmers also received 8,333 macadamia seedlings, further encouraging crop diversification and sustainable farming practices.

Through the promotion of avocado and macadamia farming, WWANC aims to support farmers in increasing household incomes, strengthening food security and building more resilient livelihoods. By investing in high-value crops, the initiative seeks to create lasting economic opportunities while supporting sustainable agricultural practices across Nandi County.
